GOLDEN, Colorado (September 25, 2003)…PENTAX digital technology brings new meaning to the term “all around” in the new Optio33LF digital camera.  With an innovative LCD monitor that swivels  180 degrees horizontally and up to 270 degrees vertically, the Optio33LF features 3.2 effective megapixels and a 3X zoom lens.  This latest PENTAX digital camera gives you the freedom to frame subjects exactly as you prefer, especially from high and low angles.  In addition to the versatile monitor, the Optio33LF features an optical viewfinder.

The Optio33LF hosts a full range of features found on PENTAX digital cameras including a movie mode that records video, a variety of picture and shooting modes, 12 MB of internal memory, built-in auto flash, and a world time function that displays time in 62 cities worldwide.

Included with the Optio33LF is an ACDSee™ software package that is designed exclusively for PENTAX digital cameras.  Valued at $150, the package includes ACDSee™ 5.0, FotoSlate™, FotoCanvas™ and Photostitcher.  ACDSee™ digital camera software makes it easy to retrieve, view, manage, print, enhance and share your digital photos.

A variety of shooting modes
The Optio33LF offers various shooting modes to cope with different shooting situations.  A handy virtual mode dial simplifies shooting mode selection* so you may simply select your favorite icon to match your choice of subject, then compose, and shoot.                             *The virtual mode dial and menu displays may be enlarged by 50 percent for easier recognition.

Macro Mode
Macro mode lets you capture images as close as 0.33 ft (0.1m).

Program mode
Program mode allows for minimal preparation, enabling you to grasp a fleeting photo opportunity while the Optio33LF automatically sets the appropriate shutter speed and aperture.

7 picture modes
The Optio33LF lets you tackle a range of subjects and situations with confidence in seven  picture modes including Portrait, Self-portrait, Flower, Sunset, Landscape, Surf, and Snow.

• Night scene mode
  Night scene mode provides pleasing results when shooting in low light conditions. A burst of flash can also be added to give further detail to the foreground.

• Movie*
  Simple selection of Movie mode allows movie files without sound to be recorded with durations from one second to 30 seconds for MultiMediaCard use, or up to available memory card capacity for SD memory card use.  Furthermore, each file is recorded with the clarity of 320 x 240 pixels in AVI (Motion JPEG) format for easy playback on PC. *Recorded movies can be viewed using ACDSee for PENTAX (on systems with QuickTime^TM installed).

• Panorama Assist mode
  Panorama Assist mode is the answer when a single shot will not capture an entire scene. Just take a set of horizontal or vertical shots of the subject following the instructions, then align and combine the images later with the help of the enclosed ACDSee™ software. * ACDSee™  Photostitcher software is compatible with Windows systems only.

Digital filters
Digital filters add creativity to your images.  Select from black and white, sepia, red, blue, and green filters, or produce stunning results by shooting images entirely in black and white and accent select areas with your selection of red, green, or blue.

Sophisticated, stylish and compact body design
Despite a powerful 3X zoom lens, the Optio33LF has surprisingly compact dimensions of a  4.3 inches (W) x 2.5 inches (H) x 1.6 inches (D).   The Optio 33LF weighs only 6.2 ounces*, making it the perfect digital camera to take with you, wherever you go.  *Excluding batteries and an SD memory card.

Easy operation and quick delete/magnification
The 33LF provides quick delete and magnification functions that may be customized for easier access, while display and shutter operation may be performed with the touch of a single button.  Just switch out of shooting and start displaying by pressing a standalone button, or go the other way with just a touch of the shutter button.

Function customization
The ability to customize one frequently used function significantly speeds usage. Just select one function from a choice of 11 and allocate it to the left and right positions of the handy four-way controller for easy access. 

Power sources
For easy access, the Optio33LF can be powered by two AA batteries in addition to lithium CR-V3 batteries.
